Dr Tanaya

Let’s be honest, the misinformation or should we say, lack of clarity on gynaecological issues and even sex, that exists in our country is shocking. Shouldn’t actually be a shock since these subjects are still so much taboo in most sections of our society and we know so little. Until Dr Tanaya started sharing about them on her Instagram page. Armed with MBBS, MSc (Oxon), FRSPH, she is an award-winning, Oxford-trained doctor helping people learn about their body, periods, and sex. Tanaya has also authored a book – Everything Nobody Tells You About Your Body that was published earlier this month.

A licensed sex & trauma therapist, Neha Bhat’s Instagram account is a revelation for most people, if we may say that. Raw, to the point, and unabashedly real, @IndianSexTherapist discusses uncomfortable topics and breaks them down making them easy to understand for everybody. A staunch supporter of agency of one’s body, she has singlehandedly educated her followers about a wide array of serious topics, most of which are taboos in our societies as a result of which a large number of us are unaware of important things.

Anupriya Kapur

Living life on your own terms is something most of us, especially Indian women, aspire to. Following Anupriya’s journey does not only show a green flag telling us that it is possible to do it, but also inspires us how to. A single mother to a son who is getting one incredibly wholesome upbringing, Anupriya is a blogger who creates content on fitness, lifestyle, travel, and relatable fashion. She is also the co-founder of Imbue Natural, a platform for sexual and intimate wellness products that also focuses on conversations around periods, intimacy, sexual organs, etc. Anupriya is also one of the voices that is vocal about prejudice against single mothers and celebrates single motherhood with joy.

Kusha Kapila

NIFT alumni and an ex-copywriter, most of us remember Kusha first from her entertaining videos at iDiva. While she has consistently created hilarious and relatable content for the last 6-7 years, by 2020, we saw Kusha appearing in Netflix shows. What makes Kusha relatable is her struggles be it in her career or be it with health that she shares with honesty and keeping confidence with her followers. An influencer who was perhaps perceived as someone creating videos to while away time and probably earn some bucks on the side came across as a serious contender in show biz when in 2020 we sharted seeing Kusha appear in shows like Behensplaining, Masaba Masaba, Comicstan, and even the much-watched Koffee with Karan! We’ve loved following Kusha’s journey and seeing this Delhi girl making it big all over India.

Prajatka Koli, more commonly known by her Internet name – Mostly Sane has been a Youtube sensation since 2015. She began her career as an RJ though she quit the profession because her show tanked. From then to now, Prajakta has made a lucrative career out of her social media presence and has recently been spotted in the two seasons of the web series Mismatched and more. She has collaborated with the biggest stars of the country and her face has been everywhere at some point or other, and all for the right reasons. From being dejected as an aspiring RJ to working in a Dharma Productions movie (JugJug Jeeyo), Prajakta has inspired many young girls to believe that nothing is impossible if you focus and stay consistent.
